That’s Sad, Right?

Both of my parents are dead now.
That’s sad, right?

It’s an empty feeling,
having no one left to disappoint,
or to disappoint me.

Maybe I could borrow yours for the weekend.

Mom makes me a home-cooked meal.
Knits me a nice sweater with a Bible verse I’ll
pretend to appreciate, while
Dad offers a life lecture, and
a couple of bonding beers.

I will roll my eyes and run out of the house
in fishnets and pasties, and get into the car
with my multi-colored-haired transgender boyfriend and… his boyfriend,
and make out with the tan little lesbian in the backseat.

I’ll make eye contact with you to establish dominance.

You can’t make me do anything!

Both my parents are dead now.
That’s sad, right?
