Purple Moons

I loved him

the way fire

eats wood

and leaves

only destruction.

Follow the trail

of carnage.

You'll find me

delusional,

desperate,

dangerous.

Dancing

with the horned devil

beneath purple moons

hung like bruises

in the sky.

Find me

in the hollow

where rivers

run black

with want,

and heaven

still insists

on raining gold.

You crowned me

with thorns.

Deep.

Down

to the bone.

We stood

at the edge

of the world,

flames

biting

at our feet.

I watched

you

come undone.

I was left

to name

the ashes.
